Title: The Queen
and the Soldier ------------------------------------------------------------ [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] [Chapter 4] [Chapter 5] [Chapter 6] --------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 5 After dinner the Queen and the General saw Lord Mortensen and Prince Bloom to their carriage. Liv kissed Viggo on both cheeks and whispered, "Stay safe." "You do the same." He responded tracing her cheek tenderly with his forefinger. She hugged the young Prince who at first looked shocked and took a moment to wrap his arms around the young Queen. "You are always welcome here, Orlando." "Thank you, Liv. As you are always welcome in my home." Orlando whispered. After their carriage and escort had passed through the gates Sean escorted Liv back to her chamber. "Would you like to come in?" Liv asked at the door. "I do not think it would be wise." Sean answered looking down. He wanted this woman from the first moment he laid eyes on her, but she was beyond him. Certainly they had shared a few kisses but she was a Queen and he was but a soldier hardly even a man of gentle birth such as Lord Mortensen. His father was of noble birth but he was a second son, and as such had no means other than going into the army. It had been the only way he could have earned any rank in society. Although he was educated he was barely more than a peasant if truth be told. "Please?" Liv asked wistfully her blues eyes seeking his out in the gloom of the hall. Sean couldn't say no to her, how could any man resist her? He nodded but felt he could be making a huge mistake. She opened the door and the two of them entered her chamber. She crossed to the table and removed her crown. "Would you like a glass of wine?" She asked. "Yes, thank you." He answered walking to the window and looking out at the scarred battlefield. One day the land would recover and no one would ever know there had been a war going on out there for the last twenty five years. "What are you thinking about?" Liv asked handing him a glass of wine. "About how long the war lasted, nearly my whole life and all of yours. Peace is welcome but sometimes hard to keep." Sean said softly. "I don't believe Prince Orlando wishes another war." Liv answered. "No, but if not the lands of the Southern nations then another it is the way the world works. Like now, we have to contend with Hugo, he is free and is a danger to you, to the peace we have now in our nation." Sean warned. Liv sighed. "Enough about war, General. I realize it's your job, but tonight can we not just be Sean and Liv not the General and the Queen?" Liv asked tiredly. "Yes, my lady." Sean answered smiling at her. "Sean will you stay with me, tonight, in my chamber?" Liv asked softly unable to meet his gaze should he think she was a harlot. "W What?" Sean stammered not quite sure of what was being offered. "I wish for you to stay, with me. In my bed." Liv answered blushing. "Have have you ever? No, no of course not. This is this is all wrong, my lady. I should go." Sean said suddenly and set his glass on the table heading for the door. Good God if he stayed a moment longer he'd sleep with the Queen and when she realized what she did he'd be hung for sure. "Sean, stay. Please. Yes, I am still a maiden, but I want you. I want only you, only ever you. Do you understand?" Liv asked ardently praying he didn't turn her away. Sean stopped and turned to her. "You should not be bedded by a common soldier, my lady." Sean answered hoping she would see reason because he wasn't sure if she kept asking if he could walk away. "You are not a common soldier, Sean!" Liv snapped angrily. "You do not want me do you?" "Bloody hell where did you get that idea? Of course I want you. I've wanted you since the moment I laid eyes on you but you are my Queen, and you are very young." Sean stated. "Stop saying that, I am of age. Young or not I am an adult. I think I can make up my own mind who I want to "bed me" as you put it, and I certainly want it to be a man I love and not some appropriate Lord picked out for me at birth who doesn't love me anymore than like a sister." Sean stood there for a moment staring at her. "A man you love?" He asked with his eyes sparkling and a shocked grin. "Yes, the man I love." Sean crossed the room to her quickly and pulled her into his arms. "I love you, too." He whispered as his mouth lowered to hers. He might well be going to hell tomorrow but he was in heaven now. She was so soft and pliant, pressing her body eagerly against his. Sean decided it would take a stronger man than he would ever be to resist her like this. She was grappling with the buttons on his jacket and he pulled back from the kiss to help her with them. Soon his jacket was tossed across the room and his fingers were unlacing the bodice of her dress as he kissed her throat and neck. He'd not wanted anyone like this, ever. Soon she was standing before him in only her thin chemise, her cheeks flushed and her hair cascading down her back like a black river. He unlaced the chemise and let it fall to the floor in a puddle along with her dress. "You are so very beautiful." He whispered nipping at her full bottom lip and sliding his hands down her smooth back. "Teach me how to love you, Sean." She whispered and he lifted her into his arms and carried her to the bed. He bent to kiss her breasts, taking one erect nipple into his mouth to suckle it, savoring her soft mews of pleasure. She clutched his golden hair in one fist, her breath coming in short gasps as he moved a hand down her stomach to the juncture of her legs and stroke the soft curls there. His own body was hard and ready, eager to claim her, but he wanted her ready first. Wanted to give more than he took. His fingers probed the opening between her legs and found she was more than ready for him. He smiled against her soft flesh and continued to stroke increasing her passion so he would not hurt her more than necessary this first time. With each touch, each soft moan or gasp elicited from her his own need grew until he felt he might explode if he did not satisfy it soon. Liv eagerly accepted his attentions, delighting in the way he made her feel. It amazed her that all Sean had to do was touch her, sometimes even just look at her and her body would react. Her mouth felt hot and hungry, she wanted to kiss and touch him everywhere all at once. Her hands moved over him, seeking to learn more about Sean and how to excite him the way he was her. When his hand moved between her legs, she bit her lip to keep from crying out. As he caressed her, his fingers gently penetrated her. Then all too soon he pulled away. "Are you sure?" He asked as he stood beside the bed. "Yes." She answered her body aching for his touch to return. He removed the rest of his clothes and she watched him curiously. She'd never seen a nude man before except in sculptures or paintings and his body was a moving work of art. As if one of the sculptures she had seen come to life well he certainly had something different than them. She must have looked distressed because he laughed and said, "It's no bigger than most I'd say." She giggled. "Since I've never seen well I'll take your word." Sean smiled and crawled into the bed and slid between her open legs but did not enter her. Instead he used his hands to caress her again, stroke her until her body hummed tip to toe. Then he settled between her legs and began to slowly move into her. She was conscious of a dull ache but he went slowly, and soon she could feel him inside her hot and pulsing. He went still for a moment, as if he were judging her reaction, so she kissed him. He began to move, gently at first still afraid of hurting her. She resisted the urge to beg him to move faster, instead savoring the sensation even the slight continuing ache that accompanied it all. Sean's kisses became more probing, and her tongue responded to his. She clutched at him, pulling him closer until her body leapt to meet his with each thrust. When first it had ached, now it was a fire raging inside not pain, only urgency. Urgency for more. They fell into a rhythm together until she began to feel waves of pleasure flooding through her and then crest. It felt as if the earth had completely fallen away and all that was left was her body joined with Sean's. She could feel her muscles-contracting reacting to a pleasure she had never felt before. Sean began moving faster, and faster within her, calling out her name and then he exploded inside her. Sean collapsed over her, breathing heavily. "You alright?" He asked after a moment planting a small kiss on her cheek. "More than alright." She answered hugging him. He chuckled and she could feel it throughout her body and her body jerked under his. All too soon he pulled away and walked to the basin returning with a cloth and cleaned her. She didn't know there would be blood. "It's alright, love. Supposed to do that the first time." He whispered softly. "You sure you're alright?" "Oh yes. Yes, I am more than alright my love." She answered smiling. Soon he rejoined her in the bed and pulled the covers over them. There would be time enough tomorrow for regret, for now he would be happy with the time he had now with Liv. She tucked her head under his chin and fell asleep listening to his strong heartbeat.
He caught them both, one on each arm. "What are you two little devils up to?" Sean asked grinning at the boys. "Sorry, General. We were just going outside to play." One of them answered wiggling in the mans grasp. "Hmm. Go a little slower in future lads. What if you had run over one of the Queen's maids or even the Queen herself?" Sean scolded lightly. "Oh, the Queen isn't in the palace she is out at the river with Miss Miranda and a few of the other ladies." One of the boys answered. "What?" Sean asked. He'd told her to stay within the palace walls! "They went for a picnic at the river!" The smaller boy answered cheerfully. Sean released the boys and stomped off toward the door. "Sir?" One of the boys asked but the General paid him no mind. When Sean reached the area where the ladies were at the river he sighed in relief. Wenham was there with a dozen guards and at least a half dozen riflemen in the surrounding trees. "General! I would have invited you but this was so spur of the moment and I know you are quite busy lately." Liv said as sweetly as possible noting the sour look on the mans face. "Yes, I am quite busy. In future could you send one of your men to inform me of plans like this, just so I know where you are? In case you are needed back at the palace." Sean added the last worried that he would sound overbearing like her Uncle if not. He decided not to remind her of agreeing to stay within the palace walls for a few weeks. "Oh oh of course. I didn't even think of that. Is that why you have come?" Liv asked worried that she had too easily dismissed her responsibilities. "No I uh I merely missed you." Sean answered not even sure why he'd said it that way, but at the smile it elicited from the Queen he was glad he had. "Missed me? Oh, we can't have that. Walk with me, General." Liv said standing and coming toward him. "You didn't miss me at all did you you heard I had left the palace and you were worried? Perhaps even mad at me for disobeying you? You thought I would go traipsing across the countryside unprotected with only my maids and a few servants." Liv said as they walked away from the others. "Yes, love, I was worried. Am worried. I am not mad at you, just worried. Though I did miss you, do miss you when you are not close to my side." Sean answered softly brushing a strand of hair back from Liv's face. She smiled. "You are incorrigible, you know." "I know." Sean answered laughing but then turned serious. "As long as your Uncle is still alive and free, you are always in danger. You know this." "Yes, Sean. I know. All too well." Liv answered, "but the day is far too beautiful to ruin with talk of that monster. Tell me what you have been up to the last few days? You haven't joined me for dinner the last three nights, I am beginning to wonder if I've lost my charm." "Ah so that's what this was all about? You wanted to get my attention?" He teased. She giggled but from the look on her face he could tell he was right. Sean looked at her stunned. "I am sorry. I have been busy, your Uncle was skimming money from the army coffers. I am trying to make sense of it all and get the money redirected where it belongs. Many of the soldiers had not been paid in months and I am no mathematician." "Oh dear. You will make it right though?" "Of course." Sean answered kissing her hand. "You need a secretary to help you with all that work." The Queen added. Sean chuckled, "Actually I was on my way to find one, when two little men ran me down in the hall racing for the door on their way to play your seamstress Maggie's sons. They are who told me where you were." "Oh, so now I know who is on kitchen duty for a week." Liv teased and Sean shook his head at her empty threat. He
spent the rest of the afternoon with the Queen and her ladies. The paperwork could
wait one more day. Continue to chapter 6 |
