Summary: Sean has an accident filming and awakes to find himself in Middle Earth; everyone there is confused because he looks like Boromir. Everyone in the “real world” is worried about their friend. Especially Viggo.

Author Note: I wasn't able to sleep so I wrote these two segments. I miss my Fin terribly. I wish he was here to beta and help me with the plot/story but he's not. Hope it makes sense. He only betaed content never grammar anyway, so if you see those things like fragments and comma splices, sorry. Without him I'm sure I'm even worse than normal.

Chapter 6

Viggo glanced across the bed to the I.V. pump as it beeped alerting the nurse it was time to change it again. He sighed and looked down at Sean’s sleeping form. Sean's mother had left just an hour ago to take the girls to get something to eat. It broke everyone's heart because they wouldn't allow Evie in to see her Dad. They wouldn't allow anyone under twelve into the ICU.

“Come back to us, Sean. Please come back,” he whispered just as the nurse entered the room.

She changed the I.V. and looked over at Viggo thoughtfully. “Have you slept?”

“What? Oh, not really,” Viggo admitted softly.

“You should get some rest, you won’t do him any good if you make yourself sick you know. Have one of your friends drive you home, get some sleep, then come back,” she suggested.

“I know you are right, but…"

“But you don’t want to leave him in case he wakes up?” The nurse asked knowingly.

“Yeah,” Viggo nodded.

“Then let me bring you a pillow and a blanket. That chair isn’t much, but maybe you can get a little sleep in it. I think your friend with the big blue eyes wants to come in,” she said tossing the empty I.V. bags into the waste bin and then walked to the sink to wash her hands.

“His name is Elijah,” Viggo answered softly.

“Well, then Elijah wants to come in,” the nurse answered with a small smile.

Viggo returned the smile and nodded. She opened the door to leave and told Elijah to come inside.

“Vig, hey, um Orli and Dom and I are going to go get something to eat. Do you want to come with us?”

“No, you guys go ahead.”

“Viggo, are you sure? You haven’t eaten all day, maybe we can bring something back for you?”

“Nah, I’ll just grab something in the cafeteria.”

Elijah sighed, “All right…well let us know if you want or need anything.”

Viggo didn’t respond. Elijah frowned and gazed at the man in the bed, he looked so peaceful and the boy’s heart ached for Viggo. He had suspected for some time that Viggo had feelings for the Brit that went beyond friendship; this accident had brought them to the forefront. The whole cast and most of the hospital staff knew by now just how Viggo felt about Sean. Even Sean's mother seemed to sense it, but was too concerned with her son's well being to ask any questions.

After Elijah left Viggo settled into the chair and laid his head on the bedside next to Sean. Viggo suddenly remembered the day he realized he was in love. It was so simple, not just one thing but all things combined it seemed and in one afternoon they all clicked into place.

#####################FLASHBACK#######################
“You think too much, mate,” Sean said settling down on the grass next to Viggo, letting his knee rest against his friend’s thigh.

“What?” Viggo asked looking up from his journal not even realizing Sean had approached until he was on the ground next to him.

“I said you think too much,” Sean said shoving him good-naturedly with his shoulder.

Viggo chuckled and closed his journal then slid his pen into his back pocket.

“I don’t think anyone could ever think too much…though some don’t think enough,” Viggo said after a moment.

Sean smiled. “Let’s not go over that again…no more politics…not today. It’s far too pretty a day to ruin with that sort of thing.”

Viggo laughed. “Right…so what have they schemed up?” Viggo asked tilting his head in the direction of their friends.

“Schemed? Who them?” Sean teased then shook his head, “Nah, nothing too exciting. Just a cook out, said it’s too hot for anything else.”

“I suppose that means your place or mine?” Viggo asked looking off at the others half-heartedly kicking around a soccer ball.

“Mine…yours is a mess,” Sean stated with a grin.

“Is not!” Viggo defended pretending to pout.

Sean just rolled his eyes and got up then offered his hand. “Come on.”

Viggo took his hand and stood up.

That afternoon everyone congregated at Sean’s house, and a delicious meal was eaten. The others were sacked out around the back lawn. Sean and Viggo were sitting on the steps of the deck watching the sun sink lower in the sky.

Sean leaned in and pressed his shoulder against Viggo’s for the second time that day.

“You’re doing it again.” Sean whispered as if it was a big secret between them.

“Doing what again?” Viggo turned to him with a grin knowing full well what Sean was talking about.

“Thinking…can nearly hear the wheels turning…hmm actually think I can smell smoke too.” Sean stated with a smile.

Viggo laughed. “Was looking at the way the light is falling across the ground over there…where the trees are.” Viggo answered nodding his head toward what had drawn his attention. Sean chuckled.

“Go get it then.”

Viggo flashed him a quick grin and hopped up heading in the house to grab his camera off the bar. Sean got him…really got him. Understood his artistic muses, understood the way his fragmented brain worked. No one ever had, but Sean did.

When Viggo stepped back onto the deck Sean was resting on his elbows his legs stretched out in front of him and crossed at the ankles blocking the steps. His head was dropped back with a few burnished strands of hair just brushing the rough wood. His eyes were closed and the steady rise and fall of his chest was the only indication he wasn’t a statue carved of gilded marble. The way the shadows fell across his body was breathtaking and Viggo couldn’t help himself, so he snapped a picture, then three more before one of Sean’s eyes slid open. He gave an upside down and lopsided grin.

“Thought you were interested in the shadows over there.” Sean asked still grinning blinking up at Viggo from such an odd angle that it was a little bit disconcerting.

“I was, but things change,” Viggo answered with a shrug, “besides the trees aren’t going anywhere…but was afraid you’d move and I’d loose you if I didn’t take it then.”

“Hope I didn’t break the camera,” Sean teased and Viggo laughed.

“It will never be quite right again,” Viggo returned with a smirk.

Later that evening after everyone had gone home Viggo had offered to help with the dishes. They washed the dishes side by side in companionable silence. When Viggo’s grip on a glass slipped it splashed into the soapy water splashing suds all over himself and Sean.

“Hey!” Sean laughed and then scooped up suds and flung them at Viggo.

Viggo laughed. “It was an accident.” Then he scooped up suds and flung them right back. Before they knew it they were laughing like fools and suds were clinging to their hair, their beards, even the tip of Viggo’s nose not to mention the curtains above the sink and the cabinets.

They were laughing like lunatics. Sean was standing at the sink drying his face then he turned and smiled at Viggo and wiped suds off his cheek. At that moment all of the little pieces just seemed to fall into place and Viggo realized he was in love.

#####################END FLASHBACK#######################

Viggo hadn’t even realized that the memories had brought tears to his eyes. They silently dripped onto the crisp white sheet as he clutched Sean’s hand in his own.

When Liv walked in she saw Viggo holding Sean’s hand against his lips with tears streaming down his face from closed eyes. Her heart broke at the sight and she silently moved back out of the door not to disturb him.

“What is it?” Billy asked noticing Liv had gone in and come right back out of Sean’s room with the saddest look he’d ever seen.

“Nothing. I just…nothing…,” she trailed off walking away.

Curious Billy stepped up to the door and peered in the small window, glimpsing the same scene Liv had. He stepped back and sighed.

“Come on, Sean. You gotta wake up, or it’s going to kill Viggo,” he whispered.
