David looked in the refrigerator to see if he could find a soda just as he heard someone walk in behind him. As they began to speak saying hello, he felt a cold chill run through him and he set the soda back on the shelf. Straightening up and turning around while closing the door he kept his eyes down and nodded.

“Hello, Richard,” he whispered toward the floor hoping he could make it out of the room and back to the safety of his office without having to speak to the other man anymore.

“I hear you are keeping yourself busy lately,” Richard commented as he watched the other man walk toward him with his head down.

“Not your business, Richard,” David said softly skirting around the table with his only goal the door.

“Oh yes…that’s right. You told me last time that your life wasn’t my business,” he said snidely as he stepped to the side as if to let David pass him.

David started past the larger dark haired man but before he could reach the door he noticed it had been locked. Turning to glare at the other man to ask what he thought he was up to, he was caught off balance as Richard grabbed his arm and slung him against the wall.

David gasped as his back and the back of his head connected hard with the wall and winced. “Let go,” he said softly trying to get his bearings as his ears rang from the impact.

“I think not. I think you are going to stand here, and you are going to listen to me,” Richard said calmly leaning forward, “Otherwise…I’ll break your fucking arm,” he whispered twisting David’s arm slightly, “You know I can, David. Don’t you, pet?”

“I’m not your pet, you don’t own me, now let me go, Richard,” David said calmly trying his best not to panic. He already knew his arm was bruising - could tell from the way Richard’s fingers bit into his skin, and he did know that Richard could and would break his arm. His only thought however was that Craig would see…and would want to know why. David couldn’t answer that, he was here in this moment and even he didn’t know why. Why after all this time was Richard doing this again?

“As I said you are going to listen to me,” Richard said twisting David’s arm a little bit more until he was satisfied by the look of pain in the other man’s blue eyes that he had his full attention.

“Why are you doing this? We have nothing to say to each other…we are over, Richard. Have been…” David attempted but again his arm was twisted and his words were cut off by a sharp intake of breath from the pain.

“You’re seeing someone? Another professor…that new fella,” Richard asked trailing his other hand up David’s free arm slowly and grinned when David nodded. “Since when did I give you permission?”

David’s mouth gaped open and he stared at the other man. “You’re out of your mind…permission? Permission!?” David said incredulously only to have his arm twisted again, but finally starting to feel anger rather than fear. Fear was what he always felt with Richard but not really this time…this time he was angry.

“Yes, permission. I told you David. You. Belong. To. Me. End of story. You are not with me by YOUR choice, not mine. YOUR choice, David. You walked out, not me. WE are not over until *I* say we are,” Richard whispered hotly against David’s ear.

“Richard I told you, more than once…it’s over. You don’t own me, I don’t want you…let me go and leave me alone,” David said softly fighting the urge to fight back, to push Richard away knowing if he did that the larger man would only hurt him worse. Like he always did. Eyeing the door he prayed one of the other professors would try and come in and tried to focus on anything besides the pain radiating up from his arm.

“That’s where you are wrong, pet. It isn’t over until *I* say it is. This other professor…what’s so special about him? What difference is there between him and me? The only thing anyone ever wants from you are two things…your money, and your body. So what makes him any different than me?” Richard asked pressing his body against David’s.

David tried to squirm away from the body pressing against his and shook his head. “That’s where YOU are wrong. Craig loves me…really loves me. He doesn’t want my money…and he doesn’t mistreat me…like you!” David snapped unable to control his anger any longer and using his free hand and leverage of his shoulder against the wall to shove Richard back.

Stumbling back surprised that David had made any move against him, Richard released his hold on his captive’s arm and bumped into the table as David rushed toward the door. He unlocked it as quickly as he could but before he could open it Richard wrapped his arms around David’s pulling him away from the door. Shifting his weight as quickly as he could David kicked backwards feeling shocked when his heel connected with Richard’s shin and the other man released him.

Stumbling forward and spinning around quickly David faced the other man while he cursed and rubbed his leg. “I TOLD you to let me go…if you ever touch me again Richard I swear I’ll have you arrested…and fired. You understand me?” David said shaking.

Richard glared at the redhead and shook his head slowly. “You won’t do that, pet. You never did before…you won’t now. Empty threats, babe,” Richard sneered standing back up, irritated that David had fought back. He’d need to take care of this other professor before he really had David believing in all this shit about love.

“Try me,” David snapped slinging the door open and slamming it shut behind him taking a few steps before bolting down the corridor to the safety of his office where he locked the door and staggered toward his desk. Sliding into his chair he tried to stop shaking and breathe normally again. He had never fought back before and been able to walk or rather, run away afterwards. His stomach flipped as he rested his arms against his desk and tried to rest his head in them. Wincing as pain shot up his arm he pulled up his shirtsleeve and stared at the red marks that were already starting to darken. How was he going to tell Craig all of this?
